Edenbrooke By Julianne Donaldson

Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson

I love visiting my family! When we get together there is a lot of laughter, games, ice cream, and funny adventures. But one thing I look forward to is raiding our sister Sarah’s home library and staying up late reading all the books because I know my family will be there to help with my kiddos as I suffer from no sleep. Haha!

On one of these family trips a couple of years ago my sister ended up recommending to me “Edenbrooke” by Julianne Donaldson. I added it to the stack of books I raided and went in my way. When I finally got around to reading it I loved it so much I read it twice! It was just so good!

If you love a Jane Austin type of book you will love this one! The story moves along quickly and you can’t help but fall in love with all the characters.

The main character, Marianne, is amazing! She is quick witted, strong willed, clueless when it comes to love, and cares more about her family then following the latest social trend. You can’t help but love her and root for her the entire time.

The novel starts off with Marianne living in Bath with her grandmother since the death of her mother the previous year. She is bored and misses her family and her home in the country. She is finally invited to visit a home of a family friend with her twin sister. While excited to go, nothing goes as planned. Between a run-in with a highway man, meeting a arrogant young man, misunderstandings, a little bit of mystery, her life will never be the same.

So if you're looking for the perfect summer read, do yourself a favor and go and check out this book from the library. You won’t regret it! You might just end up reading it once or twice... or five times lol!
