Paper Fan Tutorial

This time of year is full of BBQ's, family gatherings, and parties!  So, it seems like the perfect time to share with you my favorite party decor DIY.  These paper fans are so fun for a birthday party, baby shower, or the 4th of July!  Not only are they a cute addition to any gathering or room, but they're so easy to make!

First you want to gather all of your supplies. Odds are you have what you need at home already!

You'll want scrapbook paper, hot glue, a glue gun, and additional accents pieces for them if you want.

Step 1: Make sure your paper is square.  In this example I'm using 12 x 12 and 8 x 8 paper so I can make fans in two different sizes.  You will want 3 pieces of paper for each paper fan.

Step 2:  Fold the paper in an accordion style...like a fan.

Step 3:  Once all of your paper is folded, you fold each section in half...like a "V".

Step 4: Glue the inside piece of the "V" together to create a pie shaped piece.

Step 5:  Take each piece and glue them to each other.  Once the three pieces are together you'll glue each end to each other to complete the circle.

You will repeat this process until you have made all of the paper fans you would like to use.  I made these 5 in less than half an hour! Paper Fan

Now is where you can customize your paper fans!  I love to add paper doilies and obviously some paper flowers!

There's really no limit to what you can add to these! You can add a name, age, or even layer the paper fans on top of each other! Paper Fan

Now you can decorate with your paper fans!  Whether you hang them on the wall or display them on a shelf, these paper fans are the perfect way to turn any occasion into a party!
